A Rear Dormer loft conversion is an extension to the existing roof of your house which creates additional head height and floor space. It has square, vertical sides and usually a flat roof. The Rear Dormer can either be built stepped in from each side by approximately 300mm or built to the full width of the building. It is one of the best loft conversion options if you want to add more head and floor space to your loft. By building a Rear Dormer rather than a Front or Side Dormer, you can keep a sloped roof at the front of your house, where Velux windows can be fitted to allow more natural light to flood in. You also have the option to add an attractive Juliette style balcony with French doors.
